Women in Film Foundation accepting grant applications

By Todd Kushigemachi
The Women in Film Foundation is taking applications for its 27th annual Film Finishing Fund until May 18. Grants up to $15,000 will support films by, for and about women.

The program aids filmmakers around the world working in all genres for short and long formats. There will also be in-kind services for post including online editing and sound mixing.

Doc filmmakers must be finished with principal photography and a rough cut to be eligible. For narratives, 90% of principal photography must be completed, and there must be a rough cut. WIF members pay a reduced application fee.

The fund was created in 1985. Previous FFF recipients include "Circumstance," which won the Audience Award at the 2011 Sundance Film Festival
